Revealed as the winners of Best UK Breakthrough Artist at this year’s Heavy Music Awards, As December Falls are going from strength to strength, recently releasing their brand-new single “Little By Little” that have received a number of plays on BBC Radio 1 since it’s release earlier this month.
“Little By Little” joins As December Falls’ previous single releases, “Alive”, “Carousel”, “Home” and “Mayday” on their upcoming album, Join The Club, set for release on 21st July 2023. With these releases, As December Falls have already peaked within the top 5 on iTunes Alternative Rock Chart, seen playlist support from Spotify (Pop Punk’s Not Dead, All New Punk, Shockwave, The Scene and The Punk List) and YouTube (New Alt-Rock) and strong radio support from all major tastemakers like BBC Radio 1’s Jack Saunders, BBC Introducing Rock’s and Kerrang! Radio’s Alyx Holcombe (New Noise),  BBC Radio 1’s Future Alternative Nels Hylton and Kerrang! Radio’s Alex Baker to name a few. Excitement at press has been building too, with Kerrang!, Upset, Rock Sound, Distorted Sound, Rock Sins, Bring The Noise, V13, Noizze, Hive Magazine, Insomnia, Golden Plec and more taking note.
Announced in autumn last year, Bethany Hunter had this to say about the new album: “Join The Club”  is a call to arms. We were so tired of the music industry being full of sharks and just the world in general at the moment. Everywhere you look, it’s just falling to shit. It’s about not sticking to the rules when you know there’s a better way. It’s middle finger up to old ways, that we can do this without that bullshit. That’s why we called it Join The Club.”
Join The Club is avaliable for pre-order at www.asdecemberfalls.store/collections/join-the-club-collection
Join The Club (due July 2023 via InGrooves) is set to be an important release for As December Falls – their chart-eligible third album may be their heaviest yet and is markedly more attitude-laden than 2021’s “Happier”, which is perhaps the most noticeable on the acoustic single “Home” where self-assuredness runs throughout. As December Falls worked with producers John Mitchell (on Go Away) and Alex Copp (Frank Carter & The Rattlesnakes), mix engineers Ian Dowling (on Home – One Direction, Kasabian, McBusted) and Stevie Knight (Yours Truly,  Stand Atlantic) and Grant Berry (All Time Low,, Static Dress) for mastering to bring Join The Club to life. As December Falls fiercely independent streak is out in full force on their forthcoming record.

Striving for something more cinematic, more dynamic and more emotional than their self-titled debut album, As December Falls recorded their second album “Happier” with John Mitchell (Architects, You Me At Six, Enter Shikari) at Outhouse Studios. Gambling on themselves once more, the band took financial matters into their own hands to make their dream come true and secured a bank loan to fund “Happier” (all of which has been paid off due to an overwhelming amount of pre-orders from their highly dedicated fanbase) and was released on 6th August 2021. Amassing over 3.3 million views on their YouTube channel, the singles from Happier – “Nothing On You”, “I Don’t Feel Like Feeling Great”, “Afterglow” and “Tears” – earned them great praise from Rock Sound, Upset, Punktastic, Kerrang! Radio, Rock Sins, Noizze, The Alt Club and more.

Alongside the lead vocals of Bethany Hunter, As December Falls is composed of Ande (guitar) and Timmy (guitar). Their musical influences of the entire rock cache can be heard throughout “Happier”;  classic rock idolisation of legends such as Jimi Hendrix and Slash, vintage pop-punk admiration of Blink-182, Sum-41 and Fall Out Boy, the emo effects of Basement, Turnover and Citizen. Having never been in a band previously, Bethany turned to strong female rock stars for her inspiration. Hours were spent watching videos of Joan Jett and Marmozets to name but a few, studying their body language, attitude, and confidence until she had her unique style all sussed out.
