Pieces Of Me

‘Offer your breath to the gods of the night.’

Seven years into their rabble rousing career, Jesus Piece return to up the ante on the ‘boils my piss’ spectrum. They proceed to stamp their feral footprints into the ‘So Unknown’ a testament to their inception, to their courage and to their survival. Living ‘In Constraints’ is utterly painful and exhausting, our desolation is so great that we see no way out. It is compounded by our ‘Fear Of Failure’ in a world that is steeped in nepotism and favouritism, we are shackled to our minds with nothing but negativity. It is not a healthy place to be.
Out of the wilds of Pennsylvania, Jesus Piece root around in the dirt and dust to produce the most infuriating and excruciating sounds that will set your brains on fire. They are loud, brash, and positively unnerved by their surroundings, their lack of fear is the key to their success. Do what you love and do it well, see the fruits of their labour right here.
Relationships are an essential part of life, providing emotional support and cultivating a safe space. The track ‘Silver Lining’ gives us a hopeful aspect, talking about people that have found their rock, their focal point and their cornerstone.
We dabble in a little Greek mythology for ‘Gates Of Horn’ where we find two gates to the Land of Dreams, the Gates of Horn are for the true dreams, ones to be fulfilled, and the Gates of Ivory are the ones where the dreams are false, and deceitful.
Delve further into the world of these political, societal and familial firebrands and you get more than you bargained for, pumped up, in overdrive, employing their skilful musicianship, tribal truculence and alkaline attitude, Jesus Piece are ready to tear strips off you.
When you are rattled enough to want to throw you TV out the window, this is the soundtrack.
Ending with ‘The Bond’ and the emotive and impassioned lyric ‘what broke the bond’ launching us all into the murky depths of relationships and how we cross swords, and the ultimate consequence.
You wanna piece of me? Let’s make an offering to the night.
