One of the Irish singer Enya’s greatest hits, “Only Time”, gets a version in the voice of Aline Happ, the frontwoman of Lyria, the most famous Brazilian Symphonic Metal band. Combining Pop and New Age, the singer known as the “Queen of the New Age” is one of the biggest influences of Aline’s career. On her YouTube channel, with almost 20,000 subscribers, Aline Happ publishes a series of Folk and Celtic renditions, bringing this style of music to pop, rock and even metal songs.
The single “Only Time” is part of the album “A Day Without Rain” (2000), by Enya. The song reached number one in Canada, Germany, Poland and Switzerland, and became Enya’s only top-10 single as a solo artist in the United States, peaking at number 10 on the Billboard Hot 100. Also, it is the most popular New Age album sold ever. The song was used by radio and television networks in their coverage and aftermath of the September 11 attacks in the USA. Enya also donated the earnings from the sales of “Only Time” single to the Widows’ and Children’s Fund of the Uniformed Firefighters Association.
Aline Happ’s first solo album crowdfunding campaign was a success! Happ is recording her first solo album with originals and Celtic/Folk versions of Rock and Metal songs. The artist reached more than 200% of the goal and soon the pandemic is over she will announce the next steps about the album and the perks selected on her campaign.
