Enter Shikari played Bristol’s SWX this past Sunday in front of a sold out buzzing crowd. NOAHFINNCE and Blackout Problems both opened up the evening for what felt was an momentous occasion for the band. Lead singer Rou Reynolds, Rob Rolfe, Chris Batten and Rory Clewlow all then took to the stage as you could hardly move around the intimate venue.
They started with ‘(pls) set me on fire that was’, a single that was previously released and features on upcoming album ‘A Kiss for the Whole World’. Next up was two classics in Radiate and the ever upbeat yet political statement in ‘Juggernauts’ – a song that even after nearly 15 years since its release date, it still hits home. A song that is celebrated 15 years already is ‘Anything Can Happen in the Next Half Hour…’ and is from the album ‘Take to the Skies’ and that was up next which was certainly a blast from the past.
Latest single ‘It Hurts’ was then played live for just fourth time ever in front of a crowd and already fans were vibing with the new hit before Enter Shikari played their famous Quickfire Round. This included newly released ‘Bull’, ‘Undercover Agents’ as well as the amazing ‘Live Outside’. With the set lasting over an hour there was still some time for some encore songs that included ‘satellites* *’ and finished on the brilliant ‘{ The Dreamer’s Hotel }’.
Overall the set was not disappointing with so much build up running up to these set of shows with the same dates happening a month apart in the next two months.
