Interview: Cthulhu Dreamt

So how has your latest album/EP gone so far with fans then?

Those who’ve reached out to us about how they’ve connected with the music continues to blow us away. It’s so meaningful to us that what we’re doing resonates.

Tell us something about the release no one knows?

The riff for the track “TRACE Amount of Death” was written nearly two years ago.

If you could work with any band on a new song, who would it be and why?

There’s so many answers to this question… and I think we’d all love to work with composer Mick Gordon to not only learn some good production stuff, but also experiment with new sounds!

How has your latest release been received?

The EP releases on January 20th (2 days from the time of when this interview happened) and those who’ve previewed it have given us great feedback and praise!

Can you tell us about the meaning behind the track?

Precursor continues to build and expand the sound world of Cthulhu Dreamt. The meaning also continues to talk about the constant and perilous fight against those uncontrollable feelings and emotions many of us deal with; depression, anger, etc. In this particular release there are musical themes that are being established for the next part of the story.

What tours do you have coming up, and what can you tell us about them?

No planned tours, yet. We’ve got a ton of stuff coming out, and we’re looking forward to beginning work on our next full length studio album!

What venue are you most looking forward to playing the most, and why?

When we do start playing shows, we’ll be excited to be anywhere.

What else can we expect from in 2023?

After the EP comes out, it’ll only be a couple months before we start the announcements and launch of the next big chapter in the Cthulhu Dreamt story: the tabletop role playing game! Anyone interested can check out some preliminary stuff at https://cthuhludreamt.com
