It’s that time again folks, where music industry people look forward to winding down heading into year end, but do not rest on your laurels, you will miss little gems like the new single from my friends Damon Morey, Andy and Emma Limn who together make up 50 Year Storm. From the freaking freezing Cornwall coast, they bring warmth, they bring light and the cosiest of comfort blankets, all found in ‘Autumn Song’ a stunningly produced track that lifts and soars into the cold, cold sky. The vocals are enriching and intensifying, which in turn compliments the guitars and drums that open up the winter landscape for us to explore. Setting my heart alight on this dreary morning, the sentiment is palpable, the emotions are a gift, this song is Providence. The intrepid trio of lusciousness have progressed; there is a real sense of achievement here, for me, having followed them for a while I see a resilience, a purpose and real musical ability. I fancy their chances up there with the big boys and girls, so heartening to hear this level of commitment and command.
So batten down the hatches my friends for the perfect pitch, the perfect sound, the perfect words, all constituting the perfect storm.
