Hi friends, today I have the newest, shiniest, outing from our collective bestest friends Verity White and partner in crime Alex, known for their Monday evening mayhem over on Facebook, they are the most convivial of folks, exactly what we need right now.
My friend, Verity is non-conformist; this makes her an artist of our times, her clarity in voice and robust attitude show through the music and are portrayed eloquently in the lyrics. The silky tone of ‘A Thousand Times’ complete with a little sultry saxophone, still has that dagger to the heart vibe underneath that ultra-smooth exterior.
Verity White band are a sparkling wine with a cyanide kick, strutting their funky stuff, take a gander at the vivacious and sprightly ‘Just Try It’ a tale of chucking all the detritus into the sea and getting on with your life without all that weighed you down. An ideal companion on this ‘Road To Nowhere’ is this water and champagne concoction, markedly unreserved and for those with a more discerning palate. Whether you take a sip or drown your sorrows, it’s time to turn your water into wine. The synth -rock extravaganza that is ‘In Me’ pumps a refreshing beat, continuing this procession of positivity and frivolity, with a side serving of audacity and crotch-kicking. We finish with the inspiring ‘Another Angle’ where the ongoing issue of patriarchy and control are like a never-ending conveyer belt of crapitude – is that even a word- that we endure day in. day out, tiresome these debates may be but they are crucial to our future and our survival.
If you’re looking for a dash of finery and glamour in these trying times, then look no further, Verity White has this one sussed. Discover the fine art of distillery with Vee and Alex, raise a glass of something bubbly, may their effervescence never fizzle out. Slainte!
