Nied’s Hotel Band burns through the track length of “Take That Train” in a way that feels
outright celebratory. Volume is a given for theirs is a gigantic sound. Vocals are literally shouted rising
above the rest of the din. Making sure to take care with every single movement the piece progresses in
a way that feels truly awe-inspiring. Hard rock, the blues, classic rock, all of these get filtered through
their own unique lens. Best of all theirs is something you really need to blast for this is meant to be
experienced oh so very loudly.
A searing energy propels the song right from the first second and does not let up at all. Horns
here feel furious for they provide the right level of fanfare about them. Guitars run through the whole
thing adding to the heft of the rhythm. Everything here works in unison to create a driving tempo, one
that sprawls out into the seemingly infinite. Lyrics here are of the essence too, as there are distinct nods
to the wildness of AC/DC’s earlier works. Honestly the best part about the piece is how shockingly
intimate it is, like the listener is right there in the audience watching this group absolutely pour their
heart and soul into this thing.
“Take That Train” features the undeniably strong chops of Nied’s Hotel Band for they have an
absolute blast with the sound and bring the listener along for the ride.
