| Fearless Vampire Killers have released their first new music since 2016 today, in the form of double A-Side Something Terminal / Delicate on Silent Cult. Listen HERE. Something Terminal and Delicate showcase two sides to Fearless Vampire Killers. The title track captures their penchant for dark theatrics, soaring melodies and unpredictable musicality. It boldly sits just under nine minutes and is a representation of the ups and downs of Fearless Vampire Killers’ turbulent journey, with ultimate focus on new beginnings. Delicate contrasts with its anthemic stomp, searing riffs and instantly grabbing chorus – surefire set to be a crowd pleaser. Speaking of the new music, Laurence Beveridge explains, “Something Terminal is a love letter to the band we were, a final acknowledgment of all our quirks and contradiction. We want to take our listeners on a journey, both lyrically and musically, through our history, and eventually our hopes for the future. The title track is expansive, perhaps a little indulgent, but truly in the spirit of what makes Fearless Vampire Killers so special. It’s a showcase of all the styles we’ve amassed over the years; the melodic synths, crushing riffs, the stripped back piano led theatrics”. Kier Kemp adds, “Delicate is a song about pushing yourself to do great things despite knowing that as people we can be fragile and by pushing that hard you’re putting yourself at risk. It charts our experiences as a young band, only pushing forward regardless of the cost and then later looks at the split and how we nearly lost ourselves to a ‘normal life’. Ultimately though it’s a call to arms, to never let yourself forsake your dreams, to always keep them alive. Even if it’s over decades”. Fearless Vampire Killers recently made their surprise live return last month at Camden’s Black Heart for a sold out show, under the pseudonym After The Flames. The band will announcing more tour dates very soon. Fearless Vampire Killers formed in 2008, their gnarly blend of punk, emo and alternative rock stemming from a melting pot of influences; Queen, My Chemical Romance, Iron Maiden, Green Day, David Bowie and Danny Elfman to name a few. Hailing from Beccles, they made a move to the big smoke and spent years crammed into a cramped two-bedroom flat in North London. Every available moment was spent working on music, designing and printing their own merch, editing music videos, creating their own social network, writing tie-in novels to flesh out the world behind their songs. With ambitious eyes far too big for their stomachs, they made biting off more than they could chew the only way to eat. After years of honing their skills on many stages, they began venturing all around the UK to build and nurture one of the most engaging fan bases any independent band has ever seen. Live highlights include countless sold out headline runs, Download, Warped Tour UK, and a myriad of support slots to the likes of Black Veil Brides, Enter Shikari and Escape The Fate. Combining their extensive tour schedule with two colossal albums under their belts, Militia Of The Lost (2012) and Unbreakable Hearts (2014), Fearless Vampire Killers were going from strength to strength on the surface. However carrying the load of running everything themselves behind the closed doors of their cramped two-bed flat, the band grew fatigued and disbanded in 2016. Fast forward to 2022, and after much soul searching Fearless Vampire Killers return with a new fire in their bellies. “We’ve realised that creating together is in the makeup of who we are as friends”, explains co-vocalist Kier Kemp, “We used to make films as kids and things just weren’t the same without something to work on together. So I guess in that way Fearless Vampire Killers doing more was inevitable. I don’t think that will ever change”. |
