So, I was busy reviewing something else when scrolling through Twitter I found this little nugget. I freely admit I came here for Will Ramos…. sigh…swoon… whose ethereal, other-worldly, transcending persona graces Lorna Shore, and I found a whole truckload of Deathcore I never knew existed. Bodysnatcher are a new name to me but throw in Will and you create a partnership that is dynamite. A concoction that is mesmerising, heavy and pulsating, drums and guitars that run you through, like heavy metal jousting. Imagery that is immersive, radiating toxicity and unease, feeling claustrophobic and trapped by the chains. Unnerving, yes but utterly captivating, that’s the magic. Coming from sunny Florida, the heat in the video is fiery and singes your heart, sunny dispositions are not to be found here. The song ‘Wired For Destruction’ discusses the things that hold us back, our fears, our trials and ultimately death. Topics that are difficult to address, but now more and more artists are approaching them under the various genres that the Rock scene can boast. The death growls accentuate the hurt, the hellishness and ultimately the hunger in our bellies to fight on for a better tomorrow.
With an album ‘Bleed -Abide’ due in April there is much to look forward to, I welcome Bodysnatcher into my world, gotta snatch ‘em while they’re hot.
