Creeper retuned to their home city last week at Southampton’s Engine Rooms as James and the Cold Gun and VUKOVI provided superb support acts.
Fronted by the brilliant Will Gould, Creeper would play in front of a packed-out hometown crowd and there was certainly some excitement in the air to the build up of their set.
The Southampton punks certainly lived up to their fans expectations as they normally do and started with Hiding With Boys as well as Born Cold and Cynical which are both from their 2020 album Sex, Death & the Infinite Void.
Suzanne then followed but Creeper took it right back to their debut EP with their song Gloom which was great for the die-hard Creeper cult to experience.
A lot of the set list was a real mixture of tracks from all their releases with album Eternity, in Your Arms providing a few tracks such as Poison Pens and Winona Forever as well as Down Below which had fans singing throughout and even after the song had finished with its catchy chorus.
Creeper’s latest release American Noir then came in to play with Damned and Doomed, Midnight and Ghosts Over Calvary all being performed. The band finished with Misery before their encore which was very fitting with the music video being filmed at IKEA car park just minutes from the venue.
They finished with a throwback with VCR as well as Annabelle which was a real treat for fans and certainly finished a fantastic gig for everyone in attendance.
