Alternative Rock group Old Currents have dropped a heartfelt music video for their third single ‘The Glory‘ today.

Hailing from New Jersey, Old Currents are the next generation of Alternative Rock for fans of both Alkaline Trio and The Gaslight Anthem. Boasting their own distinct sound, Old Currents can be defined by a delightful mish-mash of diverse influences, including but not limited to: Punk, Ska, Folk and Hardcore, which they seamlessly blend into their own lovable brand of Rock.

The Glory‘ is the final single to be released in anticipation of their upcoming LP The Glory, The Defeat, set for release on April 22, 2022. Recorded back in Autumn 2019, this was the first album the group wrote as a four piece at Portrait Recording Studio.

An acoustic and introspective rock power ballad, ‘The Glory‘ has a clear nostalgic undercurrent. Meanwhile, sentimental lyrics about resilience determine it as the perfect medicine to both move and ground a listener simultaneously, planting its melody and charm in the very depths of your soul.

Inspired by his mother, lead singer Jake Novak took to music to share how he has been able to overcome adversity with the life lessons from his upbringing. Speaking on the song’s lyrics surrounding resilience, he said: “My mom didn’t have a great relationship with her first husband, and she always told me that she loves life so much now, that she’d go through the bad times again knowing it would put her on the path to the life she has now. While I haven’t gone through anything like she did, I love that attitude on life and I think there is a lot to be gained by having that mindset no matter what your struggle was. I love my life so much now, that I’d be willing to make the same mistakes again.”

The Glory‘ is a teaser that tugs at the heartstrings, and we cannot wait to indulge in the album that will mark a new wave for Old Currents.
