Ride On Time

So, at the end of November 2021, I had the fantastic opportunity to witness live music back in action and one of the bands on that bill were these guys, Just A Ride. They are a new name to me and so off I trot into hitherto unknown territory and explore further.
‘Fallen’ opens the record and there it is that funky, spunky guitar, hot for adventure and a thirst for the journey ahead.
It’s all here, the style, the substance and the innovation, tuneful arrangements that skate along gracefully, heavy but not as you know it. A truly enterprising prospect as we see what else 2022 has to offer, we live in hope that it is not as grim as what has passed.
‘Razor’ glints in the winter sun, ready to show its deftness at a moment’s notice. Swathes of grunge, melodic sensitivity and beats that hunger for your attention, when your heart is in the right place, this is what you get. With hints of Bush and Silverchair we celebrate our grunge legacy and move forward with the new breed. The current line up is Rod in charge of the mic stand, Drew and Alex take care of the strumming and drumming respectively. They are in search of a bass player so there’s a great opportunity here for the right candidate.
Stomp your rage away with the extremely groovy ‘No Way Out’ an attack on the unfair system in place that reduces people to crippling debt and no route out of the mess it creates.
We end on a slower note with the ‘Release Me’ staying with the alternative sound and using its power and prowess to unify and collect all our thoughts into one neat package.
This way for the album pre-order folks https://t.co/WnG8ZDNtik
For a chance to catch these fine fellas live and, in your face, head over to https://t.co/4xOcEIjZrN for tickets to the album launch show at The Black Heart in Camden on 25th February. They are supported by another set of fine fellas, my friends Amongst Liars, and additional slots for Solcura and Stereotyped.
So even when the darkest clouds are in the sky, luxuriate in the layers, it’s perfect for just a ride.
