Brazilian dreamy duo Atalhos‘ latest album A Tentação do Fracasso will be released on 4 February 2022 via Costa Futuro.
A Tentação do Fracasso translating as “The Temptation of Failure”, is the fourth album from São Paulo duo Gabriel Soares and Conrado Passarelli AKA Atalhos. Inspired by the diaries of Peruvian author Julio Ramón Ribeyro, the album is designed to feel like an intimate journey of a lifetime, combining layers of guitar picks, synths, and drum loops.
A Tentação do Fracasso is an album that can only be described as other-wordly, fluid and wavy with warm tones. The woozy dream pop atmosphere of the 8 track long album can be defined as somewhere between the War On Drugs and Real Estate. Produced by Ives Sepulveda of Chilean psych duo The Holydrug Couple, ‘A Tentação do Fracasso’ was mastered by the celebrated Greg Calbi (David Bowie, Bruce Springsteen).
Serving as a final taster of A Tentação do Fracasso before release, the track ‘Te Encontrei em SP’ (“I Found You IN SP”) featuring Argentinian star Delfina Campos is a tribute to the duo’s hometown.
