That Time Of Year

Hello everyone, and Happy New Year one and all! It’s back to work after days of merriment and sailing between the various states of consciousness, eating, drinking and dancing our way into oblivion and beyond.

All is not lost, for today I bring you the debut single from my dear friend Kieran and his friend Ben, collectively known as Messed Up Generation. It turns out my friend is quite the warbler, a dark horse indeed, as he sweeps in on a zephyr to swish and sway through the mist and murk with this delightfully alluring song. It has floral notes, it has an uncanny Indie swag, reminiscent of bands like The Stills and The Vines. Settle down people and bathe in the apricity it brings, a warmth that lingers, that is much needed in these winter days. They follow this swiftly with a second single ‘Stay With Me Tonight’ and what a delightfully uplifting and joyous sound they bring to help us on our way into 2022. After much heartache and loss, it is a burst of summer during the bleakness. The words ‘time for me to reflect’ are analytical, it is indeed a time to repaint our lives, draw the lines again and jettison the unwanted. In a contemplative mood we concern ourselves with what is best for us, ‘my friends are like family’ are words that will way heavy with a lot of people. The vocals here have a different feel, introspective for the verse and then gathering everything in their path for the chorus to elevate the song.

For a first time for everything effort, this is quite exceptional, and I really hope they decide to continue, there is something special here.
