The wait is over. Hailing from Liverpool, singer/songwriter Kris James unveils his debut self-titled album. Even though James is not new to the scene, he steps out as a solo artist with a significant body of work.
From the beginning, Kris James made it clear; his material is honest, vulnerable but still pop enough to dance to. And he delivered. Throughout the 10-track long record, you can hear Kris James get emotional, open up some cracks he wished to leave closed, but he also gets down and produces new dance-pop party anthems.
The album starts on a positive note with ‘Naive’ and continues with a funky ‘Get Back To Love’ that will have everyone moving. Next is ‘Addicted To You,’ which, if I may say myself introduces more of the sultry kris James.
The overall theme of the record is a first love experience. Kris James intends to cover all bases, heartbreak, intense love, getting over someone, and enjoying the single days for a debut album.
The one track that strikes the most is ‘Unhappy Anniversary,’ which has an Adele song’s weight of emotion. Side by side with ‘I’ll Be There,’ where James encourages others to keep going no matter the struggle, will leave more than one person drying their tears.
It is only upwards from here. Kris James put together an exceptional introductory record, and now he has all his fans wanting more.
Kris James’ debut self-titled album is out now.
