Paderborn, Germany’s KID DAD have released a music video for their new track ‘Hello?’ which features on their new EP ‘Bloom’ – out now via Long Branch Records.
‘Hello?’ dances between inner cold and warm melancholy. It’s a song that sounds like a rainy night in which you barely make it home and need to use the very last of your mental strength to do so. With darkness comes doubts, loneliness, and longing. You need someone to talk to in order to cope, but noone picks up the phone. All you can hear is the monotone dialtone. But it comforts you and you feel less alone.
The atmosphere created by KID DAD in ‘Hello?’ is the most intense to date, following previously released singles ‘Apartment‘, ‘As Soon As America‘, ‘Wire and Guns‘, and ‘Boat‘. But there are no loud explosions or shouts and screams, and the guitars step back to let the synthesizer take centre stage.
‘Bloom’ is a bouquet of five very different flowers that blossom into very different colours. “‘Bloom’ is our epochal change – from surrealism to pop-art.” say the band.
Vocalist and guitarist Marius Vieth adds, “Bloom contains the best songs we have written so far and we are extremely proud of our team that have supported us and are very thankful for everything they have made possible for us. We hope that this EP is the key to more in the future. More people, more interaction, and more love!”
