A powerful socialist, feminist, and proud working class scouser, She Drew The Gun, aka Louisa Roach, is just one week away from releasing new album ‘Behave Myself‘ via Submarine Cat Records.
Today she shares new single ‘Next On The List’, another powerful track about how those in power scapegoat the less fortunate for their own intentions. A robust anthem that refuses to be silenced.
Louisa says this on the new single, “The song is about how those in power use crises to exploit through fear. They ‘other’ groups of people to maintain the status quo, groups who are blamed for the problems of society and the media pushes out these messages while the powerful pursue their own agenda. Who’s going to be next on this list? any one who steps out of line! But you can’t step into my mind! I see you!”

She uses punk-infused psych-pop as a vehicle for exposing injustice and for advocating for a fairer and more tolerant society, and new album ‘Behave Myself’ very much reflects the societal circumstances surrounding its creation, decrying corruption, abuse and the continued divide between rich and poor, all of which have only worsened during the pandemic.
The soon to be released album includes vital singles ‘Cut Me Down’ (here), ‘Class War (How Much)’ (here), and title track ‘Behave Myself’ (here). Premiering on NME last month, Arctic Monkeys drummer Matt Helders reworked the single ‘Behave Myself’ from the album stating that “Lyrically the song is important so I tried to remix it with that in mind, I didnt want to divert attention away from the message.”
Behave Myself was written during lockdown, and was produced by Ross Orton who has worked with Arctic Monkeys, The Kills, The Fall, M.I.A, Working Men’s Club, and countless others.
Behave Myself will be released Friday 8th October via Submarine Cat Records. Pre-order the album HERE

Under the moniker She Drew The Gun, songwriter Louisa Roach began by playing solo gigs around Liverpool, she quickly caught the attention of The Coral’s James Skelly who she began working with at Skeleton Key Records, recruiting band members along the way.
At first glance Roach’s fuzzy psych-pop may suggest that the Wirral born songwriter is another ‘Cosmic Scouser’ but then you’re drawn into the spirit of rebellion, songs that rally againstinjustice and food banks and celebrate outsiderdom. Roach was late to music, releasing her first LP ‘Memories Of Another Future’ after a decade of motherhood and studying at college.
The second LP ‘Revolution of Mind’, released October 2018 continued the fine work laid out on her 2016 debut. Announced in the top 10 albums of 2018 by BBC6 Music, the record was one of the runaway indie successes of the year In 2019 the band completed a sold out UK tour and played a string of UK festivals including celebrated performances at Glastonbury and Blue Dot as well as many others. In 2020 the band played virtual gigs to help raise money for Greenpeace and the Music Venue Trust among others and look forward to a proper return to live music.
