Indie heroes The Wombats have teamed up with German singer, songwriter and producer Roosevelt to release a funk-fuelled remix of their infectious new single ‘If You Ever Leave, I’m Coming With You’, out now via AWAL. The original, which premiered on BBC Radio 1 ‘Future Sounds’ with Yungblud last month, has already racked up more than 2M streams and counting on Spotify.
Roosevelt, who has also remixed the likes of CHVRCHES, Sundara Karma, Glass Animals and Charlotte Gainsbourg, adds his trademark emotional warmth to The Wombat’s ode to obsessive devotion, creating a disco-infused remix full of sprawling space age synths and groovy basslines.
“The Wombats have been teenage heroes of mine and it was a big honour being asked to re-work their new track. Brought back a lot of fond memories of my youth and I had a lot of fun working on this,” Roosevelt explains.
Fresh from their sets at Reading & Leeds Festival and Neighbourhood Weekender, The Wombats have just revealed plans for a headline European tour in May 2022. The three piece will play shows in France, Germany, Sweden, Norway, Austria, Italy, Switzerland, Belgium and The Netherlands after their seven date UK arena tour in April 2022, which includes a stop at The O2, London for their biggest UK headline show to date.
