Cardiff-London based alt-emo trio Sleep Outside have released a new track ‘Spent’, which features on the band’s forthcoming debut EP ‘This Won’t Ever Last’, set for self-release 13 October.
Guitarist and vocalist Adam Holborn says “it’s about the period in time when you throw yourself into your work and burn the candle at both ends to avoid coming to terms with everything that is going on around you. It’s an homage to the past and a reminder to check in with yourself and realise what it is you’re working towards. The song holds a special place in our, and our friends’, hearts with the reference to ‘Embassy’ – a local community centre in Cardiff that has been so important to us and so many other bands from our area in forming lifelong relationships and musical tastes.”
For fans of earlier wave emo bands such as Mineral, Braid, The Get Up Kids, and Jimmy Eat World, Sleep Outside bring a fresh attitude and some sparkling production values to their ‘This Won’t Ever Last’ EP. The band’s first collection of tracks is a reflective and introspective journey which also features their debut single ‘Skeleton’.
Sleep Outside are set to play their first gigs on an enviable line-up headlined by Lakes (Big Scary Monsters) with I Feel Fine (VENN Records) also supporting.
