Alt-rock giants PVRIS unleash the propulsive, synth-driven new track ‘Monster’ via Warner Records / Reprise Records. The epic single continues PVRIS’ momentous new chapter, following the explosive release of their third studio album ‘Use Me’ last year.
“‘Monster’ is a song about reckoning with outside opinions and expectations put upon oneself,” frontwoman Lynn Gunnexplains. “It can be easy to take on the weight of negative situations/opinions, this is about the struggle of releasing those inhibitions and internalizations and returning back to yourself.”
PVRIS marked a new era with the release of ‘Use Me’, as frontwoman, multi-instrumentalist, songwriter, and producer Lynn Gunn confidently stepped forward as the band’s leader and sole architect, earning acclaim from the likes of Kerrang!, NMEand The Line of Best Fit to name a few. That newfound sense of freedom defined the record, on which Lynn wrote, played the entirely of the guitar, drums, and bass parts, cooked up beats, and of course, sang vocals. Awash in glitchy beat-craft, airy guitars, and spell-binding vocals, the 11-track record included the 070 Shake collaboration ‘Use Me’, the explosive ‘Hallucinations’ plus ‘Dead Weight’, ‘Death of Me’ and ‘Gimme A Minute’, all of which were brought to life with producer JT Daly (K. Flay).
PVRIS are about to return to the road with a US headline tour that includes sold-out shows in New York and Los Angeles, with special guests Royal & The Serpent.
Growing up in Lowell, Massachusetts, Lynn Gunn taught herself drums, guitar, and bass by sneaking into her brother’s bedroom in grade school and playing for hours on end. During computer lab at school, she discovered production and recording software, tuning out the day’s lessons to experiment with her very first beats. Later, PVRIS’ debut album ‘White Noise’ inspired a growing fan base and scored a silver certification in the UK. 2017’s ‘All We Know of Heaven, All We Need of Hell’ then hit the Top 5 of the Billboard Top Alternative Albums Chart and ushered their streaming tally past 220 millionby 2020.
Over the next seven years, they performed everywhere from Coachella, Lollapalooza, and Reading & Leeds to Jimmy Kimmel LIVE! in addition to supporting Muse, Fall Out Boy and 30 Seconds To Mars in arenas and selling out headline dates worldwide. Advocating for the LGBTQ community, PVRIS have supported organizations such as The Ally Coalition.
