Premiere: Southampton indie-rockers Myriad highly anticipated new single ‘3am’

After riding the new wave of hype from their online spaces, Myriad have returned doing what they love, releasing new music. The astronomical success of their previous releases catapulted them from 500 monthly Spotify listeners to over 10,000.

Their new track, “3am” is the band’s most bold track yet. It’s a slow, ambient spectrum, that transitions into an all-out indie-rock anthem. It reflects youth and gen-Z’s transition into adulthood – a theme that the band will be taking forward with this project.

Chatting about the vision behind the three tracks, the band’s lead singer, David, states these songs cover some of the most important subjects facing 16-24 year olds today; consent, insomnia, motivation, and independence to name a few. ‘3am’ takes the concept of insomnia, and it paints the picture of when we can’t sleep, and we have pressing thoughts swirling around our heads.”

He continues; “the narrative of ‘3am’ is centred on a young person reasoning with their night-time thoughts and feelings. Processing their thoughts about life, family expectations, their own plans, dreams, and relationships. It’s also about balancing the ever changing responsibilities of adulthood in 2021. The music, is for anyone going through a tough time, especially now in the pandemic. It’s for gen-Z and anyone else feeling like they need something to express the complex spectrum of their every-day thoughts.”

3am” continues Myriad’s newest era, they’re drawing from the likes of Two-Door Cinema club and The Wombats, along with alternative ambient indie influences for this track in particular, bringing new sounds to Myriad’s arsenal.

The calmness of “3am” makes this one Myriad’s most distinct song so far, and the pounding bass and drums at the end are the catalyst for this to be Myriad’s biggest live song yet.

3am” is out tomorrow (2nd July 2021) on all good streaming platforms but you can check out the single exclusively on OriginalRock.net below!
