STANDON CALLING confirms July festival return! ARLO PARKS, DRY CLEANING and more amongst new names announced today

In what will be one of the first festivals to return with full capacity in nearly two years, Standon Calling has confirmed that its 2021 festival will be going ahead this July – returning to the fields of Standon Lordship between July 22nd-25th with an incredible full festival experience for all ages.

Cementing its place as the beloved festival weekend perfect for the whole family, Standon Calling 2021 is set to deliver a formidable programme of global superstars, incredible live favourites, a who’s who in the best new sounds coming from around the UK, peerless cultural entertainment and enough fun to dive into at every turn. Welcoming an eager festival audience back into the fields where countless memories are made and moments that last a lifetime unfold – Standon Calling 2021 is set to be a true love letter to the spirit and joy of festivals.

Speaking about the news that Standon Calling 2021 will be taking place this summer, Founder and Festival Director Alex Trenchard said:

“To be able to confirm that Standon Calling 2021 will be taking place this year is something that brings me incredible joy. We are incredibly grateful to our staff, artists and suppliers who have worked tirelessly with us to get to this point.

The Government’s impressive vaccination record, the Event Research Programme Data published at the end of last week (which showed there were no substantial outbreaks at phase one of the test events) and yesterday’s comments made by the new Secretary of State for Health & Social Care that July 19th will be the “end of the line” for Covid restrictions have encouraged us to go for it. For the past four months we have been working with colleagues at Certific (a leading COVID testing verification app) and Imperial College London in the development of a Covid transmission risk assessment system that has been positively received by our Local Public Health Authority. We are looking forward to sharing full details with ticket holders over the coming weeks and are confident that it will help keep everyone safe.

Most of all we want to thank our Standon Calling family who have stuck with us and supported the festival through this time. This year’s festival is in honour of you – and we think we may have just pulled together the best Standon Calling lineup of all time. I can’t wait to be back in front of that Main Stage, and I look forward to dancing together with you all once again. Bring it on!”

And that’s not all! Announced today are even more names set to make their mark across the Standon Calling weekend, adding to an already formidable lineup of thrilling favourites that simply can’t be missed. Already set to headline the Friday night, Bastille have announced that they will be bringing a special ‘Bastille Reorchestrated’ show to Standon Calling this summer – offering fans an unforgettable opening headline moment as they dip across their chart-smashing catalogue with truly epic results.

Another band grabbing attention across the music world is Yard Act, whose direct tales and stories of modern life in all its mundane glory have seen them quickly rise into one of the most talked-about new bands going today. Vital live, they’re essential to any Standon Calling weekend.

With further acts such as the London Afrobeat Orchestra, Hospitality drum n bass legend Makoto and an unstoppable comedy headliner in the famed Robin Ince all being announced today – it just adds to the expectation for a truly celebratory weekend as Standon Calling opens its doors once again this July.
