Singer songwriter, Bre Kennedy is thrilled to release her new single “Control” that is out now and featured on Under the Radar.
Bre says, “‘Control’ is my 3rd single off my new album “Note To Self” coming this August. This was the first song I wrote in a zoom session over quarantine. I wrote it as an anthemic celebration of letting go of the things I can’t control in my life. After the last year we all experienced, I wanted to write a song that felt like you could scream/sing in your car after a long day. I will be releasing an official music video for ‘Control.’”
This is the third track off her new project that also features her recently release singles “Wilburn Street” and “Progress.”
In support of her new music, Bre will be hitting the road and some tour dates with the critically acclaimed singer songwriter Maggie Rose and also doing an appearance at the Bonnaroo Festival at the Who Stage.
Bre Kennedy creates music soaked in rich storytelling with piercing pop sensibilities. For many years she wrote with other artists and for other artists, and is now allowing her own music to take center stage. Influenced by mesmerizing talents like Brandi Carlile, Fleetwood Mac, Tom Petty and Cat Power, her delicate, raspy sound simply soars.
Throughout her music, she touches on profound themes of life’s messy moments and self-growth. She has been featured on notable publications such as Billboard, Atwood Magazine, Paste Magazine and American songwriter. The singer has also opened for renowned artists such as Sheryl Crow, Gary Clark Jr. and Birdtalker. In 2019 she released her acclaimed, buzzworthy EP Jealous of Birds making her a definite artist to watch. With her second EP released the following year in 2020 Twenty Something, she continues to build that momentum.
Be on the lookout for more new music to be released throughout the rest of the year.
