Boom Village – Tickets Released Now

After launching the ‘mini-event’ Boom Village just 2 weeks ago, Boomtown has received applications for tickets from thousands of excited and supportive local residents. Now the wait is over as the much anticipated first batch of tickets have been released for those who live nearest to the festival site.

All who’ve applied for tickets living in the SO21 – SO24 postcodes will have the chance to get the discounted Tier 1 & 2 tickets before they go on ‘general’ release to the wider Hampshire and South Downs applicants from tomorrow morning (Tuesday 8th June) at 7am.

What is Boom Village all about? This is what local residents can expect from Boom Village according to the official website:

In an almighty return of creativity, connection and celebration to the Matterley Estate this August, Boom Village is an intimate, locally focussed, family camping festival with a strong and deeply rooted ethos around respecting yourself, each other and the planet.

Watch the old Village Square come alive with incredible festival bands and discover hidden forest parties playing electronic sounds from disco to dub and all in between. Discover bars serving an array of local beers, food traders offering delicious vegetarian and vegan delicacies. Meet the countless characters bringing the Village pathways to life, and find your inner character at the Sunday carnival.

In addition to this being a local only event, the team are further deepening the local connections by partnering up with Trinity Winchester as the main charity partner for this special one off event. The Winchester city centre based charity addresses the effects of homelessness and vulnerability through specialist practical and emotional support, and proactive prevention, empowering positive change. They have also provided vital mental health services for people in Winchester and beyond throughout the pandemic. Attendees are asked to add £2 on top of their ticket when purchasing, and all proceeds will go directly to Trinity Winchester.

There are other ways for local residents to get involved which will be further publicised over the coming weeks. Sign up to the newsletter here and follow the local community facebook page here to be kept up to date with all opportunities and announcements.

Lak Mitchell, Boomtown Co-founder and Creative Director says: “We are so excited to bring the magical Boom Village to life in the beautiful fields of Matterley Estate, and for the first time since 2019 to be able to host a festival of any size in the place we’ve called home for 10 years. We can’t wait to put on a festival that holds families and sustainability at the absolute core of what we’re trying to achieve for those in the neighbouring communities.”

Ticket prices start at £180 and are available to all residents of Hampshire and the South Downs National Park area and go on sale in two phases. For the closest residents to Boom Village (SO21, SO22, SO23, SO24) tickets are available from Monday 7th June at 7pm, with the general sale for the wider Hampshire and South Downs residents taking place from 7am on Tuesday 8th June via the ticket page.

Due to the limited capacity and restrictions on ticket buyers needing to be from Hampshire or the South Downs National Park area, there is an application process in place prior to purchasing a ticket. An application form to allow for verification of address must be completed and verified. Once the application has been approved by the ticketing agent, each individual is emailed a ticket link which will allow them to purchase a ticket.  Apply here.
