The platinum-selling single from Grammy-winning for KING & COUNTRY, quite possibly the biggest and definitely most interesting country acts since, well, Dolly Parton. And when the latter heard this stomper, she just knew she had to be part of it. Enter a collaboration that is taking the world by all kinds of storms, with a video to go with it that’s as moving as the Aussie duo’s soul-searching song.
“Hearing Dolly sing that chorus and those words was an out of body experience for us as writers and artists,” says Joel Smallbone, one half of for KING & COUNTRY. “As soon as we heard her vocals on the track, we immediately realized that this song was meant for her voice.”
The video was shot in Nashville – where brothers Joel and Luke call home – and has already been viewed just shy of eleven million times on Youtube alone. Way more by the time you read this. Though that’s not the only starry cameo come to mention it… for KING & COUNTRY have also collaborated with other star turns for versions of ‘God Only Knows’, Echosmith and Timbaland among them, and they’ve racking up a good 80 million views between them.
‘God Only Knows’ has certainly struck a chord, and we’re very happy to take Dolly’s word for that.
