Yesterday saw the release of “Undertaker” (Fever 333 Remix), a dynamic collaboration between UK powerhouse duo Nova Twins and LA’s explosive Fever 333, revealed exclusively over on Alternative Press. The original track is taken from Nova Twins’ acclaimed “Who Are The Girls?” debut album, which was released in 2020. Nova Twins are part of Fever’s 333 Wreckords collective.
Of the remix, Nova Twins said “We love what Fever 333 did with this “Undertaker” remix. It’s one of our favourite tracks to play live and we thought that they would be perfect to rework it! Jason brought an entirely new energy to the table with his vocal. We hope that when venues open up again, we can all play it together on stage! That would be epic.”
Jason Aalon Butler agrees “I think one of the greatest things about this label collective is that it is run by artists for artists, which means every move we make is with artistry in mind. With that said – as label head I had the privilege of on boarding the inimitable Nova Twins to 333 Wrecks last year and as an artist myself I had the honor of working on a remix with them this year. Pretty win win scenario if you ask me. So much love and respect for these queens and I can’t wait for y’all to hear this one.”
Nova Twins are a genre-bending duo consisting of lead vocalist/guitarist Amy Love & bassist Georgia South. Described as “devilishly-heavy & vivid punk-rock” by NME, “grunge-pop” by the Independent & “amalgamation of raw punk energy, illegal rave electronics & unapologetic grimey attitude” by PRS. Their debut album Who Are The Girls? produced by Jim Abbiss (Adele, Arctic Monkeys, Kasabian) included lead singles “Devil’s Face”, “Vortex”, “Taxi” & “Play Fair” which received multiple spins on BBC Radio 1 from Annie Mac, Daniel P Carter & Jack Saunders, as well as BBC Radio 6 from Iggy Pop & Tom Robinson.
A continual force to be reckoned with, Nova Twins recently turned up the volume in their fight to create a stage for underrepresented POC talent, curating a limited-edition vinyl compilation, backed by Dr. Martens, with 100% of proceeds donated to The Black Curriculum. This 12 tracker is a continuation of Amy and Georgia’s ‘Voices For The Unheard’ platform, created in June 2020 as part of their efforts to further conversations around the Black Lives Matter movement. Originating as a “powerful playlist featuring POC alternative artists”, the project quickly evolved into a conversation series, centred on their day-to-day socio-political experiences with fellow musicians.
In 2019, Nova Twins were the face of Dr. Martens Alternative A/W campaign & played alongside Fever 333 during their BBC Radio 1 Maida Vale session. In 2020, they won Best UK Breakthrough Band at the Heavy Music Awards. Later that year, they collaborated with Bring Me The Horizon on their track “1X1”, taken from the No. 1 album – Post Human: Survival Horror. Nova Twins started 2021 with a remix of Gang of Four’s ‘Where the Nightingale Sings’ alongside Massive Attack‘s 3D/Robert Del Naja.
Nova Twins have previously toured with Wolf Alice, Prophets of Rage and Skunk Anansie and have been invited to support Enter Shikari in 2021. Previous festivals bookings have included Boomtown, Download & Hellfest. 2021 will (Covid-19 restrictions depending) see slots at Reading & Leeds (main stage) and Lowlands amongst many others.
