A Chat With EDM Artist Kim Cameron

Top Starfleet Music Record POOL  EDM artist Kim Cameron and her latest  single, Show Me You Feel is topping the charts; working with Producer Kevin Rockhill out of New York which has all the electronic dance vibes of a Kylie Minogue.  Lyrically, this song takes you through a story of a man and woman struggling to get back to where they once were, being constantly distracted by their phones, text, social media.  Kim wants to travel back to when our electronic devices were a distant memory, almost like a “fairy land.”   Vocal harmonies, a few dubs keep this 106 BPM dance song moving in all the right directions and keep you moving on the dancefloor.   Even at 106 BPM, this one feels like you need to be moving on the dance floor.

The music video combines aerial dancing with the story.  As an aerial dancer, Kim Cameron, performs some of her new ‘tricks’ on the hammock. Combining her instructor into the mix, the two twirl their way to big open skies in the heart of Miami.

Originally from LA, Kim Cameron moved to a number of states in the US with her family before settling in Nebraska where she earned her college degree in broadcast journalism. Growing up, she had played the clarinet in her school orchestra and marching band as a child and eventually landed musical theatre roles and sang in choirs in her young adult years. After college, she worked as a radio personality in Lincoln, NE and later worked for information technology companies in their media departments. While continuing to work in the corporate world, she moved to Miami Beach where she began her musical path by joining a local cover band in the early 90s. Easy question!  I love love love love everything and anything about music.  Always have, always will.  Did I mention I love music?

I played clarinet.  I was in marching band and orchestra.  It taught me a lot, but it’s not a great instrument for singing or writing songs

I hope I am able to complete 2 more movies.  With this first one launching in 1 month, I am pretty optimistic that enough people will love it and ask for the sequel. Perhaps I shouldn’t be, but it would make me so happy to write the next one!

I love aerial dancing. I am super hooked. I am still not as graceful as I want to be, but I keep working at it.  It’s one of those sports that you can never really master.  There is always another trick and move that you need to learn.

Commitment.  I am committed to continuing my journey.  There are so many ups and downs that is easy to give it up.  That will not be me. I hate the idea of quitting.  I started this journey, and I intend to keep it going.

My guitar skills!

Right now, I have a love hate relationship with the guitar.  I love the way it sounds and the way it makes me feel when I play it well, but I do not play it well enough of the time!  But, again, I am not going to give up!

Telling the stories.  For me, music is filled with stories.  My stories are typically love stories, and who can sick of a good love story?!  I think that drives me and my passion.

The hard work.  It is both my favorite part and my least favorite part.  The love working so hard at it, but it my work goes unnoticed, I hate it.

Piano.  I just cannot get my left hand to do what it is supposed to do!
