The Death of Pop releases new single ‘Go Back’

English bedroom pop duo The Death of Pop shares another single titled ’Go Back’ which will feature on their forthcoming new album Seconds due on March 19th.

Brothers Oliver James & Angus James formed the band in 2013 and have been growing a loyal cult following ever since. The prolific band has maintained a constant flow of ever-inventive self-produced releases on labels such as Too Pure and Art Is Hard, and show no signs of resting. ’Go Back’ demonstrates captivating melodic sensibility; harmonised vocals soar above woozy synths + jangly guitars. The song evokes a nostalgic feeling as it takes you on a kaleidoscopic hypnagogic journey in two and a half minutes, inviting repeated listens.

We are finally ready to embrace album number two and a new found maturity is ever present. Seconds was preceded by the singles ‘Once Good’, ‘The House That We Built’ and ‘Miles’ which follow similar patterns to those that made The Death of Pop unique to begin with. However, with a much more expansive sound and a clearer eye for detail, Seconds reaches for heights that seemed out of distance in their early material.
