EP Review: Kill The Ideal – Against The World

Up-and-coming alt-rock band Kill The Ideal are releasing their latest EP ‘Against The World’ on 5 February!

The EP was created during the pandemic and is an honest reflection on the difficulties faced by many over the past year. Most importantly, it encourages us to unite and get through it together, radiating a sense of hope for 2021.

Opening track ‘Let’s Get Excited’ is an explosive start to the EP, giving you an overpowering rush right from the get-go. The racing riffs and attacking vocals really throw you in at the deep end, making you invested in this EP from the start. This kind of unrelenting attack is heard again later in the EP with ‘The Immigrant Song’.

‘Save The World’ featuring Swedish rocker Philip Strand (Normandie’s frontman) is a slightly subtler track but with unmistakable power behind it. The vocals are harmonic against the traditional alt-rock background, making this a stand-out song.

‘Against The World’ is rounded off with ‘Timebomb’. The searing vocals are an incredibly gripping part of the song, holding your focus all the way through. It is a strong closing track with an unmissable air of confidence, Kill The Ideal know that they’ve cracked it!
