Three new singles from Sydney’s Amanda Easton build to her “Wallflower” album release on 20 February 2021

While scrolling through Instagram, as one does, I found not only that Amanda Easton released a single on 16 November 2020, but that she has an album coming out next month! And while researching this article, I found that there has been more from Amanda than “Girl in the Song”!

My connection with Amanda goes back to the late 1990s when she launched her Celebrity single and video, and it is because of her album “Polaroids and Postcards” from Christmas 2019 that I got back into this writing thing again, which I’m sure I’ve mentioned before today.

Selections of Amanda’s work is available on Soundcloud, Bandcamp, and all the other major platforms. Self-described as a “Theatrical electronica pop artist”, the single, Girl in the Song (pick your platform), harkens back to her earlier work: sultry, poppy, and very radio-friendly. I am sure it will garner additions to traditional media as well as today’s streaming options. There is also a remix by RetroModern (again, pick your platform) which pares it right back for the post-party chill set.

But then came “Walk the Skies” on 8 December 2020, the (beautiful) clip for which pays homage to Amanda’s love of all things Japan. The song itself conveys the pain of the loss of a family pet which then morphs into the story of a man who could not commit.  Having lost our own cat in 2019, this one struck a deep, deep chord as our new kitten lounges on my keyboard!

Need more? “At The Door” became available on 18 January 2021! This could be a track from her Postcards set, with the vintage synth sounds featuring throughout.

Never one to stay under one generic label, these singles promise an album of surprises. Come 20 February 2021, be prepared for more surprises!
