Exploding into 2021 with a dose of much needed, in your face rock n’ roll, Glaswegian rockers, Mason Hill, have today released their explosive new single “D.N.A.” via 7Hz Recordings (ADA). Following on from their anthemic last single “Find My Way”, the new track is a healthy injection of unapologetic rock with a punishing guitar riff and killer vocals.
In the few months since their debut album pre order launch, the band have continued to pick up some great rock streaming activity with over 300,000 streams on their singles Against The Wall and Find My Way as well as Planet Rock radio playlists, key rock magazine coverage and radio station support in Germany and France, including over 850 European airplay spins including a top 6 in the German classic rock airplay chart – no mean feat for a band yet to release their debut album!
Lead singer, Scott Taylor, has said of the track: “DNA is a bit of a demented rock song about being hooked on something to the point where it almost feels like it’s part of your very fabric hence the reference to feeling like part of your DNA. We tried to bring a little of that manic attitude to the video which was however an incredibly painful video to make physically! We all had to wear crazy contact lenses and get bombarded with UV light to enhance our performance and boy did it burn our eyes. We really suffered for our art on this one but we’re really pleased with the way it turned out even if we wouldn’t want to go through that searing pain again!”
The new D.N.A single is taken from their forthcoming debut album entitled “Against The Wall” which is being released on 5th March 2021. It is now available for pre-order and comes with an incredible 5 limited edition 12” vinyl format versions including a Black 180g, Red, Blue and Yellow colours as well as a ‘Blue Face’ album artwork picture disk. Guitarist James Bird said “We really wanted to create a memorable and collectible physical release package for our debut album. We’ve gone a bit mad and created the ultimate vinyl junkie dream with multiple coloured vinyl versions, a picture disk, bonus tracks and all sorts of weird and wonderful bundles! It’s a far cry from the digital world we all love but it harks back to the smell and touch of old school rock ‘n’ roll”.
Mason Hill’s debut album has been a long time in the making and was recorded in November 2019 at Riverside Studios in Glasgow, with singer Scott Taylor later travelling to New York to track his vocals.
Acclaimed rock mixer Chris Sheldon (Biffy Clyro, The Foo Fighters) took the helm for the mixing and the album is now a highly anticipated new British rock album release for 2021.
