Single Review: Joeys – I Found You

If like me you’re looking for some new sounds to fill these uncertain times, Liverpool’s 4-piece band, Joeys, may have a solution with their latest release ‘I Found You’.

It brings an alternative rock, Kings of Leon style rasp and hook straight through your speakers in a vivid flavour of character.

There is a depth to the single in every quiet crack of melody and accentuation which brings the track alive making it an extremely promising live single.

You can’t help but feel a little inclined to picture yourself in a crowd with people all singing along but for now our imaginations will have to become the stage.

It rides a cinematic, indie-rock wave of excitement … up until the chorus. It is a brilliant sound; however, it stops slightly short of reaching the peak of power. After drinking in the steady drumbeats and sunset guitar riffs you’re prepared for an explosion of sound which is never really ignited.

This being said, it doesn’t take away from the jaunty bubbles of sound fizzing through your head after sparking the ‘just one more listen’ switch until ‘I found you’ is on repeat in your mind 24/7.

There is an enterally addictive element to Joeys heard in the other single ‘SonShine’ – also worth checking out, that has you instinctively bopping along to every crashing drum, vocal rasp and hypnotic riff.

Joeys have only been recording as a band since August – which makes their sound even more impressive to say the least.
