For You The Moon release debut single ‘Lost Without It’

Coming together in early practices over a love of Basement, The Band Camino and The Killers, For You The Moon declare themselves with bittersweet new single ‘Lost Without It’ – watch here as they sign to Slam Dunk Records for their upcoming debut EP,  set for release in 2021.

The captivating new video for ‘Lost Without It’ was shot in Leeds (lockdown restriction compliant) and sees frontman Isaac Cooter fiercely freeing himself of emotional repression with a stark and emotive delivery as For You The Moon turn their real-life losses into gravitational pop rock.

Frontman Isaac Cooter explains:  “I wrote ‘Lost Without It’ when I was in that weird period after breaking up with somebody, in that place where you’re really trying to numb your own feelings and I was partying more often than I wasn’t. You end up surrounded by other people who are just as out of it as you are, probably trying to forget their problems by doing the same thing”.

For You The Moon, Isaac Cooter (vocals/guitar), Jordan (guitar), Tim (bass) and Mike (drums), write alternative rock songs for people that overshare, overthink and have a hard time not being honest. “It gets me in trouble a lot of the time”, Isaac admits, “I always try and stick to the truth as much as possible when I’m writing, using situations I’ve been in as fuel, these songs end up making you get over the issue or they plunge you straight back into it”.

Bonding over a love of Bring Me The Horizon, Basement, The Killers and The Band Camino at a house party, the Leeds-based band quickly found focus. Even with rock at their heart, For You The Moon take cues from the delicate modern pop of artists such as MUNA and JP Saxe – to name a few.

Their distillation of messy adolescent emotions into their own soaring pop-rock hooks with transformative lyricism is a testament to their own creativity, integrity and vulnerability. Bold and barefaced, For You The Moon wear their hearts on their sleeves and their careful yet ambitious song-writing gives way to their debut EP, set for release on Slam Dunk Records in 2021.

“The energy of a rock band is unlike what you’ll ever get from making pop music, it was important we strike a balance between the two. We’ve not quite figured it out yet, but I’d say we’re on the way.” – Isaac Cooter.

Responsible for launching critically-acclaimed You Me At Six into rock stardom, Slam Dunk Records – partner to ‘Slam Dunk’ promotions brand that includes the UK’s biggest independent rock festival, Slam Dunk Festival – relaunches in 2020 to continue demonstrating their undeniable passion for alternative music.
