Ridgewood, Queens based duo Yo Kinky! released their lead debut single ‘Someone I Used To Know’ on 20th November!
Comprising of Tom Unish and Laura White, the pair frolic through this groovy, retro sounding song with an air of confidence. It is a hip-hop/pop fusion with slightly darker lyrics but with a fun, sassy twist!
The video is low lit and shows White striding powerfully in bold, eye-catching makeup with Unish making regular appearances via captivating effects. Although it is a fairly low budget video, it captures the message and feel of the song in just the right way.
As a debut single, it works as a subtle insight in to Yo Kinky’s alternative sound, leaving you curious for more.
