| Hailing from the very heart of Europe, Prague, Skywalker have begun their ascent to the top of European modern metal/alternative rock scene. After several self-releases, including 2017’s ‘Sugar House’, which firmly established their signature sound – a combination of emotional post-hardcore, crushing metal breakdowns, catchy melodies and heartfelt lyricism, the quartet are pleased to announce their signing to Pale Chord for the release of their new album, set for release in the first quarter of 2021. The first release on their new home is ‘Every Grief’, a song which frontman, Jay Kucera, explains is “a pure expression of depression, despair, and loneliness. It’s about pondering my earlier decisions to “go it alone” and only rely on myself, as is the contemporary mantra of extreme individualism. In the midst of it, I find loneliness, emptiness, cold, and gloom. I want to escape but find myself unable to do so. In the bridge, I turn to breathing meditation, a technique so cynically abused by the worst players of global markets and capitalism, and ultimately fail. However, there is a light at the end of the tunnel in the form of love, acceptance and letting go of what is not necessary or wholesome.” Speaking of their signing with Pale Chord, the singer says, “We’re really excited to be partnering with Pale Chord for the release of our new album! Having already shared stages with the likes of Beartooth, Crystal Lake and Normandie, Skywalker are gearing up for their new full-length release on Pale Chord in early 2021.
