Positive future punks Never Not Nothing have shared a Halloween treat today – a cover of Suicide’s ‘Ghost Rider’. Their version is imbued with their signature rippling sound and stormy vocals, accompanied by visuals that sees the band perform in their studio.
About the cover the band said “We’ve always been massive fans of Suicide and Alan Vega’s artwork. They were the actual pioneers of synth punk. Motoric, churning, menacing and wildly free. ‘Ghost Rider’ is the bare bones tale of a flaming skeleton on a chopper, screaming truths about America sending it’s youth off to die in the Vietnam war. We need a little of that right now….are you scared yet?!”
The cover follows the release of the band’s latest single ‘Ritual Destruction’, a chaotic culture clash that Rock Sound hailed as “a swirling and daring mix of techno-fuelled ferocity and harsh rock energy that grips the neck and squeezes throughout”.
Formerly known as Black Futures, Never Not Nothing are formed of maximum dreamers Space and Vibes. Cutting their teeth writing and producing for the likes of IDLES and The Prodigy, as well as lauded indie newcomers Do Nothing and Talk Show, the duo released their highly acclaimed self-titled debut album in 2019, racking up fans with the likes of Independent, NME, Kerrang, Rock Sound and Upset.
