Ten Penny Gypsy “Fugitive Heart” album

Ten Penny Gypsy “Fugitive Heart” album

Good times and nostalgia – that’s what Ten Penny Gypsy’s new album
‘Fugitive Heart’ has the ability to make you feel. Right from the onset
of the first track, ‘Making Headway’, when the sound of soothing
guitars, festive tambourines and classic vocals start, it becomes clear
that Ten Penny Gypsy’s new effort is a cheerful walk down memory lane. A
little bit The Carpenters, a little bit Elvis, and a little bit Dusty
Springfield, Ten Penn Gypsy’s calming combination of harmonies has a
certain timeless appeal that makes the ‘Fugitive Heart’ album perfect
for a road trip, or a sunset get-together. One highlight of the album is
the sentimental ‘Highway’, a sincere folk ballad with beautiful falsetto
vocals, an enchanting melody and a message of hope and comfort. Then,
there’s the more playful ‘Road To Memphis’, a rousing rock-and-roll
style country track that harks back to the glory days of Elvis. “Take me
to that river, dip me down”, the talented duo sings, over a blend of
guitars. A personal favourite on this album is ‘Your True You’, a
chilled out track about finding one’s true self – a fitting way to close
out this thoroughly entertaining and easy-going collection of songs.
