Margo Price releases new synthphonic arrangement of ‘I’d Die For You’

Margo Price releases a new, very special synthphonic arrangement of “I’d Die For You,” the spellbinding finale of her critically acclaimed new album That’s How Rumors Get Started

Hailed as “transcendent” (Vulture), “invincible” (The Ringer) and “one for the ages” (Stereogum), “I’d Die For You” shows Price reaching new heights as a vocalist and songwriter, addressing her husband and children while she struggles to make sense of a society riddled with hate, greed and gentrification. Replacing the original recording’s slow-burning chug of electric guitar with the glimmer of a grand piano and a stirring symphony of strings, this new version was inspired by a show-stopping performance Margo gave at Carnegie Hall this spring, one of her last live appearances before COVID-19 shut down the country.

Margo says, “‘I’d Die For You’ is the most important song on the album to me. It’s about finding hope among our everyday struggles with violence, healthcare and racism. It’s a love song but it’s also a document of the human condition. Even though it was penned a couple years ago, it holds a deeper, new meaning to me now, especially given our current political climate, lack of overall leadership and the weight of the pandemic. It’s a more political ‘I Will Always Love You.’”

On September 9th and 10th, Margo Price has announced she’ll be live-streaming a pair of full-band, audience-free concerts from Brooklyn Bowl Nashville. Presented in partnership with FANS, the two shows will feature two different sets and offer an immersive video experience with the opportunity for viewers to Be In The Stream. Margo Price’s third studio album That’s How Rumors Get Started is out now on Loma Vista Recordings, and is “without question, one of the best sets of music that 2020 will witness” (Esquire).

Earlier this month, Margo helped break down sexist double standards with a cover of “WAP” on The Daily Show with Trevor Noah, she discussed the importance of saving independent venues on MSNBC, and has recently appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live!CBS This Morning: Saturday,AmanpourNPR’s All Things Considered, and The Grand Ole Opry, where she played a stunning rendition of “I’d Die For You” after urging the institution to book the Real Lady A.

Produced by Sturgill Simpson and co-produced by Margo Price and David Ferguson, the record has earned rave reviews across the board.

“I’d Die For You” (Synthphonic) is available as a limited edition 7” vinyl also featuring That’s How Rumors Get Started standout “Letting Me Down,” currently #1 at Americana Radio. Pre-order it here: http://found.ee/MP_THRGSStore
