The nations favourite Strongbow cider brand and one of the UKs most exciting new bands have come together in a new advert that pays homage to the great British Summer.
An emotional and uplifting look at what makes our summers so special from rainy BBQs to picnics in the park, the film finishes with a joyous and hopeful pub scene with one the UK’s most exciting up and coming new bands, The Snuts performing their cover of The Lovin’ Spoonful’s Summer in the City.
This love letter was filmed pre-lockdown and begins and ends in the great British pub showcasing the fresh and modern rebrand of the range which includes Strongbow Original, Strongbow Dark Fruit and its ultra-low variant Strongbow Dark Fruit 0.5%, Strongbow Cloudy Apple and the newest member of the pack Strongbow Rosé.
The Snuts are four friends from West Lothian, with a slew of floor-stomping hits (including What’s Going On? and Don’t Forget It, have recorded a new version The Lovin’ Spoonful’s Summer in the City (listen here) for the new ad.
Talking about the collaboration The Snuts explain how the cover and the advert came about “Summer in the City was a song we always loved playing and one day during our album sessions we decided to take a break from writing and recorded it. When the good people at Strongbow heard our version they felt it fitted perfectly with their new ad and we are thrilled to be giving such a great song a new lease of life.”
