Single Review: Patrick – Don’t Blame It On Me

Charismatic singer-songwriter, Patrick, is releasing his new single ‘Don’t Blame It On Me’ on the 17th July 2020.

The feel-good, cinematic track is euphorically freeing and infectious. From the pulsating, rubbery backbeat to the jaunty fluidity of the vocals, ‘Don’t Blame It On Me’ is raw, liberating and massively addictive.

The single is filled with positive, carefree vibes that radiate from the speaker to fill the room.  There is an audible confidence and fire that possesses the pulsing bass of the track builds to create the unforgettable hook of the chorus.

Having been born with a hearing defect, Patrick hears through vibrations, allowing him to understand and approach his music from his own completely unique direction. It allows depth to shine into the track and brings a diverse range of sounds and textures into the track.

After recently moving to Manchester from Northern Ireland, Patrick based the song on his discovery of gay culture and his own experiences in partying until the sun was up, he said: “This track is my brutally honest version of events relating to a specific night out in Manchester where I met a guy in the beer garden of a club.

“Despite the fact I made it very clear that I was only looking for some fun times and was in no way interested in starting a serious relationship and him agreeing, he quickly caught feelings that weren’t reciprocated by me. I just wanted to enjoy my free-living lifestyle with no ties or responsibilities.

“I tried to politely decline his offers for dates and hook-ups, but he became quite insistent, which became very frustrating, so I had to firmly let him know where I stood with the situation. He didn’t take it too well from what I remember, but I refute any blame, hence “Don’t Blame It On Me”

The flawless vocals and glowing positivity of ‘Don’t Blame It On Me’ will be made available to listen to from this Friday 17th July so make sure you check it out!
