EP Review: Project Revise – Songs From The Shed

You’re Having A Giraffe, Aren’t You?

More of that later folks, but first let us sample the fruits of the labour of my friends Project Revise who bring us some ‘Songs From The Shed’, a sparkling little number containing five tasty morsels for your entertainment. They present a ‘wind ‘em up and watch ‘em go’ scenario as they tear up your high street at top speed. I’m a little late to this party, so my apologies. We ponder the promise of ‘Another Day’ to kick things off and it’s straight down to business, no lengthy introductions, or circuitous riffs, just slay away until the cows come home. The lyric ‘caught up in someone else’s misery’ is indicative of our lives, we find ourselves concentrating on other people, and before you know it there is no time for yourself. Next it is time to ‘Hide Yourself’ which comes complete with a fan interaction and showcases the incredibly enthusiastic fan base. The reason why they travel across the UK, attracting more support and securing the foundations of what will be a productive and fulfilling career. With ‘Just A Story’ and ‘Throw It Away’ we remain true to the Pop Punk genre and shred like mad, and master drummer Dave hammering away in the background. There is an understanding that we are all the same, the words ‘your story’s no different to mine’  is perfect for the loss and abandonment people feel right now.

Known for their sense of humour and playful antics we finish with ‘Giraffes On Stilts’, yes it’s crazy, and silly but I think in these dreadful times we need a laugh and a joke. Although I can appreciate some would say they shouldn’t waste valuable recording space, I say it is necessary to see a little inside the band to know what they are about.

I, for one am very much looking forward to more work from these guys and hopefully back on tour again and meeting Steve The Giraffe, the official mascot. Until then my friends, embrace your inner giraffe and reach for those lofty heights!
