Album Review: nothing, nowhere. – one takes vol. 1

Stripping back the usual electricity and noise, Nothing Nowhere is releasing his first digital album on Friday 10th July 2020.

The ‘One Takes Vol. 1’ album transforms many of his most popular and heartfelt tracks into an acoustic based mellow ambience.

Nothing Nowhere paints the album with refreshingly raw and heartfelt versions of already released tracks, experimenting with a spectrum of emotion and depth.

The 13-track album is being released via DCD2 / Fueled By Ramen and brings a whole new alternate outlook to many fan favourite songs.

‘Hammer’ is definitely one of these, taking on a much slower, more peaceful pace than the original track. It is strangely relaxing and strips away the original tracks steady thumping bass for a much more delicate guitar.

In a deeply relaxing wave of sound, ‘Rejector’ also ebbs through the speakers in a wave of calm that soothes your very core. Through the delicate ambience, heartache fills every cathartic lyric giving the ‘One Takes’ version of this song a much more raw and personal sound.

The album follows in this pattern, stripping back tracks like ‘Clarity in Kerosene’ to bring a whole new outlook perspective to each track.

With a dazzling versatility, poignance and timeless feel, ‘Dark’, ‘Never meant’ and the new ‘Cherry Red’ are all transformed into refreshingly timeless tracks.

Through the beautiful mourning and crooning, Nothing Nowhere strips back his usual harder edge to make way for a spectrum of raw emotion to fill the gaps.

Overall, ‘One Takes Vol. 1’ gives fans a familiar but experimental sound to tamper and delve into.

It is strikingly cathartic, real and raw, coming straight from the heart, allowing fans to be a part of this very personal experience.
