The UMA release new single ‘Fire’

Pop/rock 3-piece The UMA have just released their brand new single Fire. The thumping euphoric verses are led by frontman Phil Marsh’s soaring vocals, and build into the anthemic chorus with vigour. The track is paramount to The UMA, as it’s the first song they wrote as a band, and can’t wait for the world to hear it. Later today will see the music video premiere on YouTube, at 7PM BST. Listen to Fire here.

Guitarist Dan Jones has said of FireTo us, the song is a message to ourselves and a reminder that we should never give up. It’s about reflecting on our lives and ourselves as people. It’s about accepting that life changes but it’s also a message to support the fact that just because life changes, it doesn’t mean that you have to stop pursuing your dreams. To us that’s music, but it’s applicable in any way shape or form. If you want to do something, the song supports the idea that you should continue to put all of your energy into becoming that person whilst understanding that you might have to do things slightly differently along the way.”

The band’s last single Wake Up has surpassed 22k streams on Spotify, and 14k views on YouTube. The video sees the band performing against a vibrant pink backdrop, whilst being force-fed, having whipped cream and cake chucked over them and being drawn over against their will. It was shot and directed by Clearway Media (Creeper, Dream State), and can be seen here.

Last year, The UMA released their first musical offering in the form of tracks Wake Up and Working For It. Both went down a storm live on the band’s debut tour, supporting WSTR around the UK. May would have seen the band perform at the prestigious Great Escape Festival in Brighton, but unfortunately it has been postponed until next year following the latest government advice around the Coronavirus outbreak. The trio one day hope to headline iconic venues such as London’s O2 Arena, so watch this space…

The UMA were brought together thanks to a love of the same music and shared ambitions. The band all grew up surrounded by music being played in their family households, and all have clear fond memories of realising they wanted to be in a band for the first time. Having met each other through work and mutual friends several years ago, Phil, Dan and Ben started writing together and the rest is history.
