EP Review: Enterprise Earth – Foundation Of Bones

Surprise! You’re Dead!

Joy to the world of death my friends, hear ye oh weary metalheads for I come bearing this infernal gift, a bombshell if you will. Our brothers in Enterprise Earth – Gabriel Mangold -guitar, Dan Watson- vocals, Brandon Zackey- drums and Rob Saireh -bass, have been keeping their noses firmly squared to the proverbial grindstone  in secret and are now ready to give you the death of your dreams. Deep breaths as they put their blood encrusted lips to your bellybutton and suck your insides until they are outsides.

This ‘Foundation Of Bones’ is incredibly sturdy, able to withstand any tornado, an almighty top, middle and bottom section of relentless frets and pernicious percussion, caustic enough to set your teeth on edge. For the first of two covers  the lads take on Lamb Of God ‘Now You’ve Got Something To Die For’ man they’ve got some moxie but the result is an enviable slice of heroism and wisdom. Keep on pounding and pulverising those musical armaments lads, until we get the message. The winner takes all scramble for the finish begins at 3.04 and there is no soft landing.

We have a frighteningly awesome second cover next when we encounter the murderous  Necrophagist and at 3.01 you will find the reason why we all tuned in. Those of a nervous disposition, please read these lyrics whilst sitting next to the dustbin. Don’t say I didn’t warn you. Those with a more acquired palate maybe you would care to sample the vintage ‘Fermented Offal Discharge?’ You would? Well that’s just grand, ‘cos here it is.

And now for something completely different we have ‘There Is No Tomorrow’ a fragile little thing with delicate guitar plucking, ghostly vocals and heavens to Betsy, the heart and soul of this record, right here. I’ve got fucking goosebumps!!

An instrumental play through of the title track ends this deathfest which is a thing of agonising beauty my friends. Accursed are the ones who cradle this beguilingly grotesque beast to their chest, form a queue behind me please.

So, take command of your trusty blade and proceed to cut against the peace of our sovereign lady The Queen, her crown and dignity.

How do you plead?
