Glass Peaks Share New Track ‘São Paulo’ and release EP

Glass Peaks share the latest track – ‘São Paulo’ – taken from their debut EP ‘It’s Raining On The Wrong Side of The Window’. Kicking off the next step for the band with a gigantic track about the emotional ride a failing relationship can put you through.  “São Paulo is a song for anybody who has ever experienced any kind of colossal failure in a relationship, whether it be funny, tragic, cringe-worthy or otherwise. It’s for the guys or girls on dates who need to get out of there quickly, it’s for those who are sad about the fact that something that they thought was special didn’t quite turn out as they’d imagined. São Paulo attempts to navigate the rollercoaster of emotions one might go through in any given situation in relation to love, sex and relationships.” – Alfie Jefferies (vocals)
Rising alternative indie trio Glass Peaks present their debut EP – ‘It’s Raining On The Wrong Side of The Window’, mixing influences from the likes of Foals, Radiohead and White Lies. The four track EP features previous singles ‘Never Really Left’ and ‘London Is Concrete’ – as well as the electric Sao Paulo and the beautifully acoustic EP title track ‘It’s Raining On The Wrong Side of The Window’. This debut body of work showcases Glass Peaks’ ability to blend an eclectic range of musical genres and make something unique of their own with it. Putting them out there as one of the top creative bands to come out of the emerging London scene. “I think some of our most honest songwriting can be heard within the tracks; there’s an intricacy to a lot of the music that shows a musical side to us that we’ve never really shown before. Saying that, it’s still quite diverse with tracks like São Paulo and Never Really Left; I think there’s something for every Glass Peaks fan in this body of work. We’ve treated it almost like an album. A lot of care and attention to detail has gone into how the EP plays from the intro to the final track; we want it to be an experience that takes the listener on a journey. For us, it’s more than just a few tracks bundled together, and we hope our fans see it in the same way.” – (Alfie Jefferies – vocals)  Glass Peaks take you on a journey through their spectrum as a band with this release, kicking off the EP with the fiery São Paulo – inspired by an intense date vocalist Alfie Jefferies went on with a girl from Brazil. “I went on a date with a Brazilian girl from São Paulo, she was pretty fascinating and told me beautiful stories about wild parties in her hometown and all about her extravagant friends from home. I only ever saw her once and this song is about how badly I think the relationship would have gone if we’d have stayed together and tried to make a thing of it”. Followed by recent single ‘London Is Concrete’, a love letter for the familiar feeling of home. As a band, they have never been afraid to express themselves when it comes to more serious subjects, which can be seen with ‘Never Really Left’, a post-grunge anthem that tackles the toxicity of social media’. “Someone once said to me ‘nobody really cares if you don’t go to the party’ and it’s so, so true. The same applies for this online world we live in. Nobody really cares that I went on a 5K run, or bought a pair of new shoes, or that I don’t believe in a God, or that I’m interested in politics. There’s a huge, delusional, false pretence that exists on the internet”. The EP closes on title track ‘It’s Raining On The Wrong Side of The Window’ – its beautiful acoustics grow into a cinematic ending. The Black Mirror inspired song captures that moment of hearing about someone you love, leaving you forever – bringing the debut EP to a climactic close.
Glass Peaks’ debut EP – ‘It’s Raining On The Wrong Side of The Window’ was released on the 1st May 2020.
