Recent and Future Rock Vegas Residencies

Las Vegas used to be the gambling capital of the world. While it has lost that title long ago, it’s still the reigning champion when it comes to offering premium entertainment. Performing in the City of Lights used to beassociated with acts whose best days were behind them. However, today, you can findperformers such as Lady Gaga and Bruno Mars in Vegas each year.

Residencies have been a staple there since the 60s when you couldn’t find a free seat at a table at any casino. Nowadays, things have opened up as online platforms have taken a big chunk of their customer pool. With online casinos like www.novicasino.com leading the way, more and more people are gravitating towards these platforms.

And, with the ability to play against live dealers in top-notch studios across the world, it feels more or less the same. If table games aren’t your thing, you can choose one of the many thousands of advanced slots. These games not only provide an immersive gaming experience but they have multiple benefits like free spin rounds, bonus mini-games, progressive jackpots, and the chance to enter VIP programs and play in special tournaments.

While these platforms are growing each year, Vegas is turning to entertainment to lure and keep players within its borders. Rock stars are no exception. Here are a few that call Vegas home for a couple of months out of the year.

Def Leppard

Legendary Sheffield rock band Def Leppard, began playing Vegas in 2013 at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino, and, well, they never stopped. Their first residency was titled – Viva! Hysteria, and was a two-part show, where they would open with rarer songs, and finish off with the hits.

Their last run was named – The Sin City Residency, and they’re planning to do another one soon.

ZZ Top

Though their roots are in blues music, ZZ Top slowly evolved into the Texas rock icons we know them as today. In 1993, they released a cover of “Viva Las Vegas”, and made their love for Elvis and the city known. It peaked at number 16 on the US Billboard Rock chart.

In April of 2019, they began their residency at The Venetian, in Vegas.

Aerosmith

Steven Tyler and crew made a terrific choice with their 2019 Deuces are Wild residency at the Park MGM Theater in Las Vegas. The concerts were such a hit, that the promoters were forced to bring them back for deep into 2020. The passion with which the band still performs, along with their varied setlist is what keeps the fans coming for more.

Billy Idol

Whether you like Billy from his solo stuff or his days with Generation X, it makes no difference as he’s well into his 60s, and still rocks any venue with the same tenacity as 30 years ago.

In 2016, he staged his first residency at the House of Blues, but in the last two years, he’s made a home at the Palms and performs a few shows there each year.
