Brighton-based feminist electro-punks CLT DRP are today streaming their new single ‘Worth It’, which is out now on all good digital service providers following a premiere with LOUD WOMEN.
Commenting on the track, front woman Annie Dorrett says: “For me, ‘Worth It’ is the pop single on the album—it’s heavy and catchy and in your face. It’s the last word in an argument and the final realisation that you need to speak up for yourself in difficult situations.”
The band were gearing up to release their debut album Without The Eyes on 15th May 2020 via Small Pond Records, but are sad to announce that they have taken the difficult decision to postpone the release until 28th August 2020 due to the ongoing and wide ranging effects of the coronavirus pandemic.
Commenting on their decision, guitarist Scott said: “Disappointingly, we need to announce that a difficult decision has been made to postpone our album release. With the uncertainty that the next few months hold, our shows in April are likely to be cancelled and we feel it was the best decision to make. As disheartening as this is, we realise this is a very hard time for us all. The most important thing right now is that we’re all doing the best we can to limit social contact and take care of those that need it most. But it’s not all doom and gloom—we have decided to go ahead and release our second single ‘Worth It’ from Without The Eyes.”
The trio were scheduled to play a string of Spring/Summer 2020 UK headline dates and select festival appearances, including Strangeforms and Portals, many of which are now cancelled or postponed until further notice in the interest of public health and safety (see below for updated listings)—follow the band’s socials for all the latest on the developing situation with regards to cancellations.
Previously-released singles ‘Speak To My’ and ‘Where The Boys Are’ received early support from London In Stereo, Fred Perry Subculture, DORK Magazine, Atwood Magazine, LOUD WOMEN, Get In Her Ears, Destroy//Exist and more, with radio support from BBC 6Music’s Iggy Pop show (The Big Moon sitting in), BBC Introducing in the South, and Hoxton FM.
