AREA 404 encompasses one of Boomtown’s main stages, The Nucleus which will host live performances every night from the renowned, genre-defying composer and experimental fusion artist, Squarepusher. Underworld will take to the stage to celebrate their 40th year whilst Orbital’s live set will be sure to set pulses racing.
Elsewhere on the Nucleus you’ll find a huge array of names from across the scene. The Black Madonna will be making her Boomtown debut, alongside Brazil’s techno champion, ANNA. Helena Hauff will be bringing stripped down techno from Hamburg and experimental sounds from HAAI will be vibrating through AREA 404. Some weighty back to backs will take place including festival favourite, Eats Everything, with Monika Kruse and the return of Denis Sulta b2b Mella Dee. This year will also see sets from Maceo Plex, Detroit’s Moodymann, Objekt and a live set from Paranoid London.
Beside The Nucleus, thundering bass, grime and DnB can be found at The Grid which will rumble to the beats of the 10 yrs Butterz label featuring Champion & MC Serious, DJ Q, Elijah & Skilliam, as well as Flaca D, Joker, Jubilee, Royal T and Sir Spyro. True dubstep originator, Caspa, will be bringing a dynamic range of underground sounds to the stage with Slimzee, Truth, Crazy D and Sgt Pokes amongst others.
And finally, at Acid Leak, Boomtown citizens can explore the deep basslines and sounds of acid house and techno as well as the fusion of tough machine beats and disco at Fallout Disco.
