Album Review: Napalm Death – Logic Ravaged By Brute Force

Micro Monsters!

Local heroes Napalm Death return with a short but sharp burst of aggression with this two track EP to cleanse our stale palates and remind us of why they are the kings of Grindcore. They set down their crown for purveyors of the micro song for this outing. The single ‘Logic Ravaged By Brute Force’ is rife with caustic guitar work, deafening drums and the roaring voice of our friend Barney Greenwood. It is catchy yet corrosive, but it is healthy and hearty and stays within the speed limit. Sound-wise there are hints of Dead Kennedys and a quite heavily brooding back note, dare I say Gothic flavour.  The surprise here is the Sonic Youth cover of ‘White Kross’ that obliterates anything in its path, deftly done, quite emotive and garnering the same spirit and power of the original.

A band of true genius and a legacy that is immortal, a conviction to ask the difficult question, You Suffer – But Why?

Approach with caution, and only if you believe you have the aptitude and the attitude to channel your anxieties and answer their call.

Let’s go, my friends.
